HOW IT ALL STARTED
Our founder, Jock, has always loved sports from a young age. His favorites were basketball and baseball. His mom would often find him out and about with friends playing in the fields during and after school hours. A man of short stature, he was naturally the last pick and never given a chance to play school team sports. But these minor setbacks never swayed his love and determination to surround himself in the world of sports. He always knew he would find a way to fulfill his passion, but he just was not sure how at the time.
After a strong reform by the government to industrialize the country in the 70’s, Taiwan was able to emerge as a strong economic power with a solid manufacturing base thanks to astute government policies, growing labor productivity, and increasing foreign investments.
Jock recognized this trend and saw his opportunity to enter the world of sports in a different way- producing quality apparel for athletes since he couldn’t be one himself. He was first exposed to the textile industry by his older sister and knew immediately this was the perfect way to incorporate his passion into a long career to support his young family. This started a long 38 years journey that led to the JVG legacy of today. From a humble beginning with just a few sewing machines to collaborating with some of the world’s most renowned sportswear apparel in the industry, JVG has proven to be a reliable partner that always delivers.

Through the development and production process, we will update and remind clients on key approval dates to ensure deadlines are met.
